Meet your coach
Hi! I’m Shannan, a Parent Coach with Adapted Family Solutions. I support families through individualized, in-home and community-based coaching, helping parents navigate challenges and build the family life they envision.
I earned my degree in Educational Studies from Lindenwood University and my Master’s in K–12 Special Education from Fontbonne University, with additional coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis from Washington University in St. Louis. From there, I spent over 14 years as a special education teacher supporting students across grades K–12.
Alongside my professional experience, I’m also a parent of two, something that deeply shapes how I connect with and support families.
While I loved being in the classroom, I felt called to support families in a more personal and meaningful way. I’m excited to be part of the AFS team and to walk alongside families as they build confidence, connection, and routines that work for their everyday lives.
I am so excited to work with you!

Behavior coaching happens in real time, caregivers work with a coach during routines, activities, or challenging moments to learn strategies as they’re needed. Coaches provide in-the-moment guidance, education, and simple adjustments to how behaviors are approached that can make a big difference. Caregivers learn how to understand behavior, use effective strategies, and feel more confident handling challenges, while building stronger family dynamics and relationships and learning how to support their child’s emotional regulation.
